Bachelor of Arts (BA)
BA or Bachelor of Arts is an undergraduate degree in India conferred for a study program in either social sciences or liberal arts or both. The duration of BA courses is normally three years and this course can be broadly categorized into pass and honors courses. A person seeking the Arts degree needs to study 5 subjects. There are a number of combinations of subjects one can opt for depending upon the availability of choices in various institutes. Though it is a full-time degree course it can also be pursued via Distance Learning.
Eligibility: Students passing successfully out of their 10+2 examination from a recognised education board with Science, Arts or Commerce stream can opt for B.A. Generally, 50% of marks are required but the percentage varies from institute to institute.

Difference between B.A. and B.A. (Hons): Both the courses i.e. B.A. (Hons) and BA are of three years. The basic difference between these two courses is that in BA (Hons), you study a particular specialisation paper in the three years whereas in BA there is no specialisation.
